Homecoming on the fly and a concert at the beach

Last weekend we had family in town (which I would post pictures of if I had taken any!!).  They wanted to see some of Williamsburg so we decided to head down there for the day and meet up with them when they were free.  This weekend happened to also be homecoming for the Tribe, so it ended up working out great. We hadn't planned on going this year since we were there just last weekend for a wedding, but this gave us a great excuse. We got to hang out in town, see a bunch of friends we hadn't seen in awhile - though those encounters were pretty brief, and meet up again later in the afternoon.

One thing we don't often do when visiting Williamsburg these days is enjoy the historic area.  We typically spend all of our time on campus.  Since my sister was with us and we didn't want to subject her to that, we focused on the colonial area this time.  We had lunch at the Cheese Shop and then visited the spot where Chris and I got engaged (over three years ago now...can you believe it??)

The reason my cousin Heather and her family where in town because Carlos is touring with Jeremy Camp!  That evening they invited us to head down to VA Beach to check out his show!  I've never seen him perform before but it was awesome :)  Also, the week before we stumbled across his CD in a store promoting the Jeremy Camp tour. It was crazy to actually recognize someone on the cover of a CD!
It was great to see them and I'm looking forward to more visits now that we live on the same coast!

I miss the burg...we'll have to plan another weekend to all go down. I heard that Carlos was touring with Jeremy Camp...that's so awesome! I found out recently one of my friends from my small group has been following his and Heather's blog for a few years now. How random!
