I have been wanting to take a trip to Texas to visit my grandparents and was so thankful to have the opportunity to do so this month!
We hit the airport and grabbed some food because we had A LOT of time to kill.
We hit the ground running and made a stop at Buc-ee's on the way to Tyler.
We finally arrived!
Since the last time I visited (in 2023) they moved from their beautiful home that we all loved into a place much closer to "town" - a move that was the right move for all, but not without sadness. Their new place though is actually very impressive and they have put their touches all over it so it seems very cozy and homey. I loved it!
We got to meet some of their neighbors (Grammy refers to them as "inmates") at a Cupid Float Social that it seemed like they absolutely would not have attended except for us :)
Their favorite employee!
We did lots of puzzling - four over two days. It was a great way to sit and chat while keeping hands busy. There also were 6 of us working on them at the same time.
We went out to lunch twice... China King and a local Mexican food place - both delicious.
We spent lots of cozy time chatting, eating, and played several rounds of Yahtzee!
We also took an afternoon stroll to get outside for a few.
We got to read some updated memoirs - it's fun to read anecdotes from Opa's exploits in life.
After a few days of keeping everyone up way too late it was time to head back to Virginia.
We loved our visit! Thank you for having us and hope you recovered quickly from us all crashing at once!!
