Heart of Virginia

Today we went to the Heart of Virginia Festival which takes place in Farmville, the geographical center of Virginia, every year.  There was all sorts of things to see, to do, and people to watch.

We saw an old airplane:

Lots of crafts and handmade items like this pottery:
Makes me wish I was a talented potter for a career...

We also saw a lot of carnival-type folk pop out of the woodwork.  It was interesting, to say the least.

Lastly, and more importantly, we saw TONS of kids on leashes.  It must be the new form of keeping tabs on your kids these days.  My brother-in-law keeps track of them all on his blog, but I was still shocked to see so many...
The festival was great and we really enjoyed having something fun to do in Farmville on a Saturday.  Who knew Farmville could attract so many people on one day?
