The 'mond

Today's 90 degree weather felt almost refreshing compared to the stifling humidity and over 100 degree heat we've been getting lately.  We decided to take the opportunity to hang out outside for the day and headed to Richmond to see what was happening.  There was actually a lot going on, most notably:  free snowcones at some family oriented event we walked through.
Yes, one of the many ways to my heart is free frozen treats on a hot day :)

Unexpectedly we came across a pipewalk over the James River, which is exactly what it sounds like:  a walkway over a giant pipe.  There was a warning sign as we descended the ladder to the pipe stating that if the river had risen over the level of the walk, don't try to walk on it.  I can't even imagine the river getting that high, but I've definitely seen it flooded before!

We spent most of the day hanging out by the river, unfortunately without bathing suits.  We'll definitely be better prepared next time.
