Fall for real and Bears Den

One of the things I miss about living in northern Virginia is that here in central Virginia, we're so far from mountains!  If you want to see a beautiful view you've got to drive northwest for an hour or two until you get closer to the Shenandoah Valley.  We've definitely done this a few times over the last year, but I miss being able to just hop in the car and drive ten minutes down the road.

Last week I was aching to see something with a little more landscape to it that here so we visited Bears Den to kick off the fall season - after all, fall is the best time for hiking!

It was absolutely beautiful and I'm glad we were able to get outside and enjoy that crisp fall air without a trace of humidity - which is so rare!

Besides having great views, there are tons of rocks here that provide endless climbing entertainment.
Totally worth the trip.

Haha Jennie - No - he was jumping from a tall rock to another tall rock and I was in the little canyon in between them!
