ICE!

A few days after Christmas, Chris and I went with his family to see ICE!  I heard about this the year before and was really excited to check it out this winter.

It was amazing!  Definitely chilly, as the inside was kept at 9 degrees, but we got to wear borrowed parkas the whole time to attempt to keep warm.  Even though the entirety of Who-ville was freezing, it was hard to believe that everything in there was actually made of clear and colored ice!

My favorite part: the ice slide!

I think the best part of ICE! was that the displays from room to room really told the story of How the Grinch Stole Christmas.  It was so impressive.  They started out with the Grinch stealing all the Christmas decorations, gifts, and food from a Who-house, and then progressed into him hauling his loot up the mountain.  There was a room with the Whos in a circle singing, and then even a statue of the Grinch's heart growing three sizes!  At the end, I sat down at the Who-table while the Grinch carved the roast beast :)

Once you exited Who-ville, there was an entire larger-than-life nativity made out of the crystal clear ice.  It was really very beautiful.  I guess the theme changes each year, so we'll probably have to check it out again ;)

So glad you joined us this year! I don't remember the Who table...I think that's what happens when you're seeing everything through a camera lens!
