We've done a lot over the last five years, particularly in the area of changing locations and jobs. I certainly didn't think we would be where we are today when we graduated. I figured we would stay up in the Arlington (or at least greater D.C.) area indefinitely. Though I dislike not being super close to our families, I am happy not to endure the D.C. traffic on a daily basis. I never have to plan my work commute around traffic patterns or worry about where I'm going to park my car these days.
The other thing I am thrilled about is that despite distance, marriages, moves, babies, job changes, and just life in general, I am still very close with my roommates from college! We met up in Texas in March for one of our weddings, and will see each other again in October for yet another. When there are no events on the horizon, we plan a girls weekend and as many as can make it come. We keep in touch through texts, calls, email, blogs, google hang outs, book club, and just about any other way we can come up with. We've got many more years of friendship ahead of us, and I am still very thankful every day for each and every one of them!
