Five

On Friday we celebrated our fifth anniversary. I'm sure I say it every year, but I can't believe it's been that long. It has truly been a wonderful five years. I have an amazing husband, a loving, understanding, grace-filled marriage, and I know how blessed I am to be able to say that in this broken world.

Since our wedding, we have lived in three different cities, each had four different jobs, and we are now living in our fifth home together (the first one we actually own, though!). We replaced a car after an accident, I completed my BSN, Chris is currently working on his MBA, and we are expecting the first new addition to our family next month. In addition to those life events, we welcomed a new family member through marriage, said goodbye to my grandma last summer, traveled around the country whenever we had the opportunity, took family vacations or attended extended family reunions each summer, celebrated graduations from high school or college for every one of our four sisters, attended years worth of Tribe basketball games among other sporting events, and have spent countless hours just hanging out together on the couch at home. If our next five years are even half as blessed as the last, then we will have nothing to complain about.

I am truly looking forward to the next five (or hopefully fifty+) years of investing in and building up this incredible relationship.

And to my husband: thank you for being you, and for loving me for being me.
