Our week in Round Hill!

For our family trip this summer we decided to visit my mom at her new house in Round Hill. Neither of our families were planning on taking a trip together, but my brother and sister and I all agreed to take the same week off work and meet at my mom's house for the week - and it was a great vacation! No one had anywhere to be and we got to spend a ton of quality time together. This trip started with the 4th of July and went early into the following week. It was both busy and relaxing! My grandparents were visiting - from Texas! - for the first part of the week, and we had a lot of fun catching up with them. Opa roasted some marshmallows for the girls and we had philosophical disputes about whether charred or just browned was the best campfire mallow tactic.

The next day, they headed out very early in the morning to head back to Texas - even earlier than our crew gets up, and that's early. We decided to go to Great Country Farms for the day to explore! We had been once before, two years ago, and it was so much fun that we wanted to go again. We all participated in the Farm Ninja Obstacle Course, went down giant slides, and played.
(If you look closely, you can see Antelope and Uncle Benny at the top of that slide!)
(Lauren helped me carry the babies around all day - I would feed one and she would put the other in the Moby)

We went to visit Dave at the mill where he volunteers - the Burwell-Morgan Mill.

We spent tons of time in the pool. It is such a great pool!!

We went to see my dad and Rachael - they have a new house! - and went out to dinner with them.

Chris and Benny went out to Dirt Farm Brewing for their third birthday celebration.

We also spent lots of time playing cards, we watched a movie, we did a 1000 piece puzzle (I think this must be a tradition almost every family has while on vacation), played tons of yard games, and visited with friends and family. Eric's friends came out a couple days in a row and Chris' parents and sister were able to come out for an afternoon, too!

It was a wonderful family vacation, and honestly, probably about all I could handle with this crew of kids at these ages. Also, probably more than half of these pictures are from Lauren - thanks for sharing!! We can't wait to all get together again there around the holidays.
