Sickies

We are pretty lucky - our kids rarely get sick, and if they do, they usually have a pretty quick recovery. Unfortunately last week, sickness hit us hard. Eleanor missed two days of school with some sort of GI bug. And honestly, I don't think there's much worse that being woken up in the middle of the night from a deep sleep by a vomit-covered kid. I had to put her in the shower with her clothes on to get her clean and then there's the changing of the beds, carpet cleaning, etc., that has to be done before you can put them back to sleep (with another kid sleeping in the room that you're trying not to wake). Anyway, we thought we were in the clear after those two days, but Chris ended up going out of town on Friday for a 4-day weekend away, and sure enough, I was woken by a different vomit-covered kid Friday night. And then a different vomit-covered kid Saturday night. And then two vomit-covered kids Sunday night. Needless to say by the time Chris got home a couple days later I needed a nap.

I've completely lost track of how much laundry I've done.

We've just sat around lazily and barely gotten dressed for days. True survival mode - just try to keep everyone alive and hydrated enough to avoid having to haul five people to the doctor's office for a 3 hour (or more!) wait, check-in, sick visit, check-out process, missing naps and probably having at least 5 meltdowns to be told it's viral and nothing can be done.

Here's to hoping we can stay healthy the rest of the winter...

Awww, I'm sorry you had such a rough go. The pics are so sweet though; they look pretty happy during the daytime. Love the one of all 4!!
