We've had a busy week - my mom came down to spend some time with Lauren and me as a belated birthday thing since I had plans on her actual birthday and wasn't able to come up there. It was so much fun!
We went to an Escape Room (and we escaped with 6 minutes to spare!) and went out to a hibachi place for dinner. I made a chocolate mousse pie for dessert.
The next day they both came to Jane and Eleanor's soccer game and then we went shopping for a bit and out to lunch.
We had a great time! Thanks for coming down, mom!
We also had Jane's school's harvest festival that weekend. The kids got to play some games, eat lunch, do a little costume parade, get their faces painted, go on a hayride, and then trunk or treat.
Our neighborhood had a few things going on, as well. First, an Oktoberfest! Rosie and Ben were stars of the show in their dirndl and lederhosen.
There were brats and hotdogs for the kids, beer for the grown ups, and lots of oompa music as well as some contests we didn't end up staying for.
Then there was a pumpkin carving, hay ride, and soup potluck night down at the river. It was a ton of fun! The kids rode the hayride throughout the neighborhood multiple times (with music, decorations, and smoke!) - plus we hear this runs on Halloween night, too! We have such generous and wonderful neighbors.
We stayed until the sun went down and then biked back home. We are just loving living here!
