July wrap-up

Oh July. Every month seems to bring change these days. With COVID numbers jumping again in our area we're just holding our breath for another shut down while praying it comes after it stops being 100+ degrees outside. Hampton Roads (which includes us) recently went back to indoor and outdoor gatherings of 50 or less. The schools in our county announced students will not come back in person for at least the first 9 weeks. The pool and swim team have been such gifts to us this summer. And! Swim team was supposed to end next week but our couches have decided to continue for another month if kids are willing. Hallelujah for the pool!

Jane got an ear infection (likely from the pool or river). Her first mask-wearing experience since it is the only place she has been inside since March 13th except at our house, of course.

Eleanor caught a frog at swim one morning.

Jane climbed a tree...really high the other day.

Ben and Rosie helping with dishes.

Rosie wearing goggles, which doesn't happen often because she doesn't like them.

I couldn't find Ben at the park the other day and then found him completely entranced watching the chlorine truck. This guy loves his trucks and vehicles.

Our church has been having some great outdoor events, include the early service on Sundays, picnics, and movie nights. Our kids have been loving it.

Ben in a life jacket.

Ben has figured out how to open the pantry and now, instead of stealing graham crackers, he is finding bags of chocolate chips.

Our friend rented the Kona ice truck for a birthday party.

Matching jammies for the big girls.

The pool is a life saver. We've been going every day. Twice a day actually for swim team and then playing.

Here is bedtime in our house.

Ben helping Chris mow the lawn

Gaby, Auntie Paula, and Kayla came down to visit.

Our pool got a basketball hoop and the guys help set it up.

Our pastor had a birthday and the kids all wore his face on bandanas to church to celebrate.

On to August - we're already praying it isn't as hot as July. It's also our last full month of summer before the new and uncharted waters of homeschooling hit in September!

Jane was WAY up in that tree. Wow!
