I don't know what it is about January, but usually some time in early January we end up going on a hike or two. We ended up at Freedom Park taking some of the trails through the woods the other weekend, and while it was quite cold and a bit wet, it was fun. The kids did mostly okay. Ben surprised us by doing far better than Rosie, who fell four different times and had to be carried for a few stretches. Overall though, the kids are getting older by the day and it seems to be getting slightly easier to do stuff like this.
