Easter

We started celebrating Easter a little early when Lauren invited us out to their neighborhood to do an egg hunt with Bonnie!

The Easter Bunny arrived by boat! It was so sweet and cute!!! Eleanor was quick to inform me "That's just someone dressed up. It's not a real bunny."

We had such a great time, especially watching Bonnie try to pick up a few eggs!

Lauren and Eric invited us over for lunch and made a delicious meal. Then our kids took out pretty much every toy Bonnie owns and made a mess.

Eric took the kids outside to fish after lunch (which Ben has been talking about doing forever). Benny caught a fish with just a net! And Jane caught a giant stick. Rosie likes to tell me she caught a "hot dog" (which Uncle Benny had been using as bait, hahaha).

That afternoon we got to see Grandma and Dave! We played on a couple playgrounds, took a walk through lots of wet ground and mud and the kids got sweet little Easter treats from them!

The next day we celebrated Palm Sunday at church with a palm branch processional. Ben particularly loved dancing with his palm branch.

Gaby and Papa Laser came down for the day to bike ride, decorate cookies, and hang out!

Later that week we dyed eggs!

I went to our church's first sunrise service.

Eleanor and Jane spent the night writing notes from the Easter Bunny to each of the members of our family. We don't "do" the Easter bunny in our house so I was so surprised to see these when I woke up! They wanted to make the magic happen. This happened some time between midnight (when Chris went to sleep after the NCAA tournament Championship game) and 6:15 when I got up for the sunrise service. They still haven't broken silence about the fact that it was them! If you can't see, the one in yellow says "Dear Katie. Happy Easter! I hope you enjoy your Easter. Yours Sincerely, Easter bunny. P.S. It's awfully hard to write with paws." and the one in blue says "Dear Chris, Happy Easter! Jesus has risen! It's Easter! Yours Sincerely Easter Bunny"

We went to church as a family Sunday morning with friends!

Chris and Ben took an Easter nap on the couch.

I got a picture of the kids wearing Easter ears.

We had our first annual (hopefully) street-wide Easter egg hunt and potluck. So many kids came! There were so, so many eggs. We hid them in 6 yards.

Eleanor and Ben even found eggs the next morning.

Happy Easter! (We forgot to dress cute for Easter, I'm honestly not sure how I forgot that people dress extra nice on Easter!)

He is risen!
