Eleanor's birthday

Eleanor had a great birthday this year. It was the first year that we had a celebration or party on a day other than her actual birthday. We had to switch it up because she really wanted a sleepover party, but the girls she was inviting started school the morning after her birthday. So the whole day was just about her! This is the last picture taken with my seven year old!

We woke up and did the birthday string.

The next morning Chris took Eleanor to Duck Donuts for her birthday breakfast!

We went to church...

Eleanor got to spend the day playing with some of her gifts...

Grandma ended up coming down to visit! She hasn't been down in quite awhile so the kids were excited. Our pool plans got foiled by rain, but we ended up playing in the bonus room.

Chris grilled ribs for Eleanor's birthday dinner (her request and beloved by all the kids).

Then we had cake!

We feel so fortunate to be raising our kids in such an awesome community, and even more fortunate that we have so much family in town!

Literally without making any plans in advance, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandma all showed up to have cake (and dinner) with Eleanor. I know she felt very loved!

Happy birthday to our 8 year old!
