January wrap-up

Happy January - a fresh start to a new year. We've been having run inside and out when we can.

I took a walk with a friend on her birthday.

We enjoyed the last of the Christmas cookies.

We went to a W&M Women's basketball game to show the girls what a real game looks like (they're playing basketball this winter).

Ben and Rosie started sleeping with their heads at the same end of the bed after two years of facing opposite directions.

We hiked with the girls' scout troop.

We spent time in Colonial Williamsburg.

Ben and Rosie went back to preschool (much to Ben's delight and Rosie's chagrin).

We played lots of dress up.

We spent lots of time at the bus stop.

I went on lots of early morning runs with neighbors.

Ben likes to do some silly moves.

Uncle Rob and Auntie Mollie invited us over for dinner and dizzy dogs one night and it was delightful to hang with them and meet some of their sweet neighbors.

We did a Home Depot workshop (our first one since pre-COVID).

Eleanor looking like a little teenager.

Ben and Rosie found a cool bed at the Re-Store.

Jane has a pretty standard uniform most days. Good thing we have so many tie-dyed Flyers shirts!

Rosie grew a garden she got as a Christmas gift.

There are several new puppies at our bus stop. Jane is still scared of them but the other kids are coming around.

These girls wore shorts to school for almost an entire week of January.

Rosie and Ben had their 5 year old check-ups and rocked their Kindergarten shots.

Silly fun at Target.

There's lots of heavy machinery at the marina right now as we're going through a dredge.

We've done a few hikes.

Jane got to go to a fun painting party.

Jane with a couple buddies waiting for the bus.

The girls have gotten into slime, much to my chagrin.

Lots of book reading in this house.

For two weekends in a row, the kids have been having sleepovers both weekend nights.

Chris surprised the kids with Duck Donuts for breakfast one morning.

The kids singing the offertory song at church one week:

Rosie the hat girl...

I took this picture of Jane in front of this statue/art installation outside one of our county libraries because it encapsulates some of her personality...she hates this statue because "the pages blowing away feel so messy. It's so stressful."

Ben got to go to a friend's birthday party at our neighborhood park.

We went to Mardi Gras at Busch Gardens. The kids loved the beignets and we saw a very cool Carnival inspired show!

It was a great month...but we are still waiting for snow! I am starting to lose hope that we will get any this year. We saw flurries one day, but it was short lived and nothing stuck. Crossing our fingers for February.

We haven't had snow this year either. That painting bday parties looks like fun! Mardi Gras too!
