Homemade Ornaments

18 years ago my siblings and I started a tradition of making homemade ornaments for my mom for Christmas. We started out strong - Lauren and I really partnered at the beginning. She is the creative genius though, and as time went on, I completely stopped helping and she took it over. Then after a few years, she started making them for me and my family, too!

Eric etched this one with some sort of wood tool - this is also the year Chris joined the ornament since we had gotten married. The one below (2009) was pretty heavy.

Here's where Lauren really took the lead. As you can see, I stayed involved for a very long time, haha!! At this stage I was still minorly involved (meaning Lauren still asked opinions and I occasionally helped with something minor).

And this was the last year of my involvement - Eleanor's handprint - our faces are on the back of this one - first one to include a grandchild!

Then Lauren took the reigns completely.

And 2019 is the first year I started getting them! Which means she made three copies...one for my mom, one for me, and one for herself. The ones for her and me just included our families, so they're all a little different!

These ornaments are so special. Thank you Lauren!!
