Lego-Robotics

Eleanor was part of a Lego Robotics Club this spring. They designed Lego robots and coded them to perform certain tasks. She had some challenging dynamics on her team, so unfortunately I don't think she enjoyed the regular club meetings much. But in June they had a competition and she had a great time! She hopped in the car in the morning and started coding and Chris said she never stopped all day.

Matoaka had three teams...this was the whole group:

Because of the team dynamics, Eleanor's team walked in with 2 partially completed codes and no finished codes. Thankfully after some of the parents and club sponsors witnessed some of the team dynamics, they got involved. They made Eleanor the team captain and they ended up making a ton of progress! They completed four missions (after getting zero in the first round).

Round 2:

Eleanor actually had a great time at the competition and learned a lot about working with a team. I hope she views the experience overall positively because she actually showed a bit of talent for the skill and seemed to enjoy doing it!
