Amalfi Coast - Day 6

Our last day we decided to head to the Amalfi Coast and hike! We did the Path of the Gods. We had to take a private car to Bomerano to pick up the trail.

We followed a man on a donkey for the first bit of the way.

From there we hiked the trail and just had beautiful views everywhere we looked.

We stopped to fill our water bottles in the fountains at every opportunity.

We got closer and closer to Positano with every step.

A puppy followed us part of the way.

Then at the end of the trail, we had to walk down 1600 steps to Positano. Yes, you read that right. I walked forward, backward, sideways, and my legs were jelly!

We ate lunch, and then I waded into the black "sand" rocky beach.

From there, we took a ferry back to Sorrento and grabbed gelato for a snack (surprise)! This was maybe my favorite gelato place of the entire trip!

From there we took another ferry to Naples to spend the night before our early flight out the next day. We checked into our hotel and then hit the town to find some pizza. We ate at Pizzeria del Portico and it was delicious!

We wandered a bit more around Naples but mostly found it to be quite dirtier than the other cities we had visited and much more graffiti and trash. We ended up going back to our hotel, playing cards and then heading to sleep.

Our flight home was through Swiss Air - by far my new favorite airline. We had a stop in Zurich. We were inspired by the spaetzle, ice cream, and chocolate we were given on the flight, and now maybe our next desitination will be Switzerland!
