Jane's birthday!

Jane had a weekend-long birthday celebration! It all started on Friday when she invited her best buddies over for a sleepover. Chris had created an Avengers-themed challenge for them to earn all 6 infinity stones. We had pizza (see my Captain America shield pizza below) and they watched Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Time Stone: Assemble Captain America’s shield from the provided pieces in 1 minute or less to earn the time stone! If you don’t complete it in 1 minute, you’ll have to start over!

Space Stone: Taking turns, the 3 avengers must land a total of 10 arrows in the target area using Hawkeye’s bow to earn the space stone!

Reality Stone: Follow a recipe to bake a treat. Before baking decorate the cookies with M&Ms using Avenger's themed symbols.

Mind Stone: Complete both word searches as a team to earn the mind stone!

Soul Stone: All 3 avengers must learn and perform Peter Quill’s dance-off dance correctly to earn the soul stone!

 

Power Stone: Ride down the zipline and use Thor’s Hammer to kill all the enemies. All 3 avengers must do this successfully to earn the power stone!

We had cupcakes...

And the girls woke up bright and early for french toast casserole and Captain America-themed fruit skewers that Jane had made the day before.

On Saturday we went Busch Gardens during the day and the kids got Dippin' Dots and then Jane got to have dinner at Mellow Mushroom and eat ice cream cake at Baskin' Robbins for her good friend's birthday. They even sang Happy Birthday to Jane at the end, too!

Then it was time to go to bed - last picture with my 8 year old!

On Jane's actual birthday she woke up to follow her birthday string :)

Then she and Chris went to Five Forks for breakfast.

We went to church that morning and Jane had a playdate with a friend afterwards. That evening we had her favorite dinner - penne. 

And then it was cake time! Jane had strawberry cake with chocolate icing.

Jane then was invited to a sleepover with some of her friends! It was a great birthday weekend for this sweet girl! Happy 9th birthday, Jane!!
