Pompeii - Day 4

On day four, we woke up to say goodbye to our little Roman AirBnB with a view of the Colosseum and took a train from Rome to Naples.

Pompeii was great! We did not take a guided tour, which I would recommend, but we did look up what to see and walked around the city. It was much bigger than I thought it would be!

We found a bar.

We visited the Stabian Baths.

We visited the Amphitheater.

We walked through the Garden of the Fugitives, which was pretty sad to see all in the shadow of Vesuvius.

We saw the House of the Small Fountain.

We saw kitchens:

We visited the House of the Tragic Poet.

We saw some very tragic bodies of people who died in the eruption.

We walked through the forum of Pompeii.

After we left Pompeii, we walked around and got gelato to cool off. It continued to be so hot!

From there we took a train to Sorrento where we checked into our hotel and headed up to the pool to cool off even more. It was such a great view of the Mediterranean.

Then we got dressed for dinner and headed out into Sorrento to find a spot to eat!

We decided to walk down to the Marina Grande and found a place to eat overlooking the water - Porta Marina Seafood.

It was such a beautiful location. We tested the water for temperature to see how it was for our boat ride the following day... it was amazing.

I've always wanted to go to Pompei...but tough to see some of that, I'm sure. So tragic. Your pics of Sorrento are amazing. Love the pool!
