Harper's Ferry

While we were up at my mom's house we took a trip to Harper's Ferry! We used to go all the time when I was a kid, but the last time we went was four years ago. The kids have grown so much:

This time, Eleanor knew something of the history as she played John Brown in the wax museum in fourth grade. Here's Jane singing John Brown's Body outside the John Brown Annex:

We went up the hill to Jefferson's Rock.

Then we headed back down the hill to the church.

We checked out the flood markers - nothing new since 1996:

We threw some rocks from the overlook into the river.

We hiked around and across to Maryland.

We even did some off-roading on our hike.

Everyone enjoyed going across the train tracks.

Thanks, Harper's Ferry, for another great visit!
