Switzerland day 2 held one of the two most beautiful hikes I've ever been on! We also got to ride the most unique funicular I've ever seen - the steepest on in the world - the Stoosbahn. It was a set of 4 circles that rotated on top of each other to go up the mountain.
Right from the outset there were amazing views.
Then we embarked on the Stoos Ridge hike from Klingenstock to Fronalpstock. It was amazing! I believe the hike itself was just under 3 miles in length, all along beautiful alpine ridges where you have 360 degree views of towns and 10 alpine lakes.
This also marked our start of eating delicious kaesebroetchen for breakfast most mornings.
Also, it was the second day in a row that we just enjoyed the beautiful sounds of the cowbells while the cows crazed across the mountains.
The views from the top were stunning!
Looking back a bit on the area we covered:
Once we finished the hike we took a cable car from Fronalpstock back down the mountain.
We did a bit more exploring in Lucerne that evening, hiking up to the Museggmauer - the wall surrounding Lucerne. We luckily got to go inside some of the towers and got some beautiful views of the city despite showing up after closing time. In the first tower we met the guy locking up for the evening, but he said if we walked ahead to the second tower he would just be locking everything up behind us!
That night we ate dinner at the Rathaus Brauerei right along the river. It was wonderful.
Another lovely day in Switzerland!
