Christmas this year was lovely as always! It started with a stroll through Colonial Williamsburg on the morning of Christmas Eve. We even saw a huge gingerbread house at the Lodge!
At home we had a couple hours before we headed out to our Christmas Eve service. Rosie and Ben shared their stories of the nativity:
Then we headed over to Grandma and Dave's for dinner and some hang out time:
After dinner we headed home to get ready. The kids got to open a gift - their books from Grammy and Opa!
They put out cookies and milk for Santa:
We read the Polar Express and 'Twas the Night Before Christmas:
And of course, we took our annual pyramid picture:
It was nice and peaceful before bedtime:
The next morning the kids waited on the stairs while we checked to see if Santa came!
We straightened up our mess a little bit, because at 11am, everyone descended!
We opened gifts.
Then everyone gradually left. That night we went back out for a quick visit and carol to Chris' moms house after she had an unexpected mishap. The next day was quite cozy. I worked on a puzzle that I had pulled out but no one had time for. The kids watched movies. We made peanut butter balls. Chris found some new lights to light up the neighborhood.
Then on the 27th we got together with Chris' family to celebrate! We went ice skating (more on this soon), and then ordered pizza, did a gift exchange, and played some games!
A few days later the last of all the crew left town. It's always sad to say goodbye!
