Happy Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving this year we went up to my mom's house.

We played cards: Holiday Hand and Foot - over two nights of course since the game takes forever!

We watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the girls especially loved the Hamilton performance and the Rockettes.

Ben and Rosie couldn't figure out how to sleep, so ended up being awake until 10:45 at night. The next day we wanted to go kick field goals, but couldn't because they were so exhausted. Rosie asked to take a nap at 10 and I woke her up 4 hours later because we were going to start getting ready for dinner soon!

Eric and Dave went out a rigged a make-shift field goal in the back yard and we participated in the annual "unofficial" Turkey Bowl. I made it over once from around 10 yards (or who really knows because nothing was official), and Chris made it over from around 30 or 35.

Dave gave the kids tractor rides, which of course thrilled Ben.

We had a delicious Thanksgiving meal, of which this is the only picture I took...though it's a good one! Then it was back to cards and watching Hamilton.

The next morning we went on a hike to tire the kids out before eating Thanksgiving leftovers and making the drive back home. The hike was great, though the girls hiked up way too high on a waterfall and I had to escort each of them down individually, sliding down the mountain with Rosie in my lap. Sadly my pants became a casualty of the hike.

Happy Thanksgiving from our crew to yours!
