The basement

So I was going to head down to the basement to do some laundry today, and when I got outside I saw this:

 

You can see the hose that is just emptying water into the yard, which really confused me.  Then I remembered that because of the whole water pipe thing in the front yard along with all of the snow we've had that there had been some water in our basement.  So somebody had come by to set up some kind of pump to drain water out of the basement into the yard.  I figured there might be an inch or so of water, but as you can see, I was wrong:

  

 

 

Yep, that's about 4 or so inches of water covering the entire basement.  Guess I won't be doing any laundry today.
