Toby Keith on September 11th

Chris and I drove up to northern VA this weekend for a bridal shower.  Actually, I had a bridal shower to go to but didn't want to drive up there by myself so Chris came along to keep me company.  It was a great decision on his part because a friend offered us tickets to the Toby Keith concert on September 11th, and what better way to commemorate the memory of that day and the sacrifice our armed forces make for us on a daily basis than at a country concert?

Chris' parents also had tickets, so we got to tailgate with them a bit before the concert.

The place was packed - many people were proudly wearing the uniform of whichever branch of the service they work in.  Toby Keith ended up bringing a few people on stage from out of the crowd during songs who were in uniform just so the audience could applaud them.

As both of us come from military families, we have a lot of respect for those that choose to serve us and our country.  It was really wonderful to see so many men and women in uniform, and see some of these wonderful people get honored.

At the end of the concert, he brought out a group of wounded veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.  It was quite moving to see a group of of people, many who looked younger than me, in wheelchairs or with missing limbs.
So, all that is to say thank you to all our troops.
