Air Force 2

While we were home over Thanksgiving, we had the opportunity to tour the planes that function as Air Force 2.

They were awesome!  Since this was a small/private event, there weren't too many people around and we had a great time exploring the planes.  The best part was imagining all the famous people who have sat in those particular seats.  We sat in Michele Obama and other first ladies' favorite seat/plane, Joe Biden's and other past VPs - I felt like we were experiencing our history in the making :)

As I'm sure you can imagine, we had a bit of fun on our tour, too.  We hung out near the plane engines, sat in a couple cockpits, and found the security cameras - which entertained a few people who were on board at the time.

Chris used the VP's toilet and we found a mask that I believe would help someone in an emergency situation.

On our way out we stumbled upon the red carpet they use to load the planes and while no one was looking, we unrolled it a bit to take our picture on it - can you imagine the people who have walked on this carpet??

While it may seem like there was an oversight in their lack of supervision of our group - there were plenty of AF2 pilots, chefs, and attendants around making the experience pretty awesome.  We learned some fun information about what some of our country's most powerful leaders like to eat while they're in flight, as well as things like their nap schedules!
