Decorations are back in boxes

Last week was busy with laundry, the new computer, catching up at work, and dentist appointments, so this weekend while we were getting into the swing of the new year, we took down all the Christmas decorations.  We felt like this would be a great opportunity since we didn't have much going on over the weekend besides other similarly organizational-type tasks.

The boxes are still hanging out in the middle of the living room, but with everything taken down, it all just looks so bare!  I have completely forgotten how the apartment looked without all that Christmas-y stuff greeting us every day.  I love when there are Christmas cards on the walls and the scent of pine when you walk into the house.  I'm not so much a fan of the vacuuming and mess that comes with tree removal.

I always feel like winter should end with the packing up of Christmas decorations, but I know there's a couple months of cold to go.  In fact, we're supposed to get snow again tonight, we'll see if it comes...

this was actually the first year i didn't mind the end of Christmas decorations -- it makes our tiny home seem that much bigger!

Ours is now gone - the house looks so empty! It is quite sad.

I took down the Christmas decorations in stages so this year the bare feeling was not so bad. And the job was easier :))

Are those your new friends in the big framed picture above Chris? Don't think I've met them before.
