Nice weekend

We spent the weekend up at Chris' family's house to celebrate his mom's birthday. It was a lot of fun - everyone was in town including some extended family and we got to do a whole lot of relaxing and catching up on what everyone's been up to since the winter holidays. Of course I didn't take any pictures, I hardly changed out of my sweatpants...oops :) We hear they'll most likely be getting snow tonight while we are getting wind and rain.

I came home the other day and as I hopped out of the car in our parking lot I heard a loud banging noise. The wind we've been getting down here lately has been fierce. It took off part of the siding on the building next to ours and I've also noticed a few shingles laying around that must have come off roofs somewhere. The rogue piece of building has since been fixed - I'm glad they took care of it before it completely detached and landed on something below. Definitely felt bad for the people whose apartment it was banging against all night...

On a slightly sad note, as soon as I wrote about the Christmas tree/plate compromise, Chris informed me that the tree had been transferred to the dumpster so it's now gone! I will have to stop being lazy this weekend and maybe do a bit of spring cleaning (early, I know, but maybe it will make spring come sooner) and pack them away.
