On another note, we've had a visitor hanging out outside our door for awhile now. I know praying mantises are not harmful to humans, but they are predatory insects that apparently are capable of feeding on things much larger than them. This one is huge and scared me to death when I was leaving the house yesterday and didn't notice until I turned around to lock the door.

My time off
As I mentioned before, I've got a couple weeks off between now and when school starts back up again. In my time off I decided to volunteer at our local hospital just to get familiar with it in the event that I want to work a bit closer to home when I finish this program. The hospital where I currently work is a teaching hospital and has magnet recognition, and I know the hospital in town doesn't so I will be interested to see what differences I notice, if any! Anyway, I have mostly been transporting patients around the hospital, delivering things, collecting patient charts, and (what I'm hoping to do more of) reading on the peds floor! It has been a good experience so far and I'm hoping it will continue well the rest of this month.

Whoa, that is huge! I'm a complete spaz about bugs. It's bordering on pathetic. I would have screamed bloody murder at the sight of that guy, haha.

Great experience you are having on your off time!
I hope your mantis finds a new home to hang out on!
