Charleston from the street

We did a whole lot of walking last week...I can't even estimate how many miles we must have covered on foot the few days we were in Charleston. Honestly, despite all the tours we took, the best way to see Charleston is still on foot. Some of the stuff we saw:

The harbor along Battery Row

Battery Park (There was a very small wedding occurring in the gazebo while we were walking through!)

Civil War-era flag at a museum displaying causes leading up to the Civil War (or as we heard it referred to in the South: "the War Between the States" and on one instance, "the War of Northern Aggression").

Kilwins (an ice cream place near the city market that I went last time I was in Charleston - it is delicious)

Rainbow Row on East Bay; one of the most photographed spots in Charleston

Folly Beach (not exactly in Charleston, but we did go there for an afternoon)

And finally, Isle of Palms (again, not exactly in Charleston) for a wedding, which was the real reason we went down to Charleston in the first place!

As you can tell, it was a great week, a great wedding, and a great trip overall.
