Camelot

Last week at the Tony Shaver show, I randomly won tickets to the Virginia Opera. Chris looked a little less than thrilled when I said I won, but he was a great sport and this weekend we went to Virginia Beach to see Camelot at the Sandler Center. I thought it was very entertaining, but because it was a performance by the opera, much more focus was on the music itself than the performance aspect. What I mean is that there was a stationary set with not much in the way of scenery changes and the only props they really used were chairs. The round table was a bunch of chairs in a circle, and trees were chairs stacked on top of each other. I thought it was very entertaining and enjoyed it but at intermission, Chris looked at me and said, "You know how I don't have any imagination?" and I knew he thought the lack of a real round table was less than awesome.

Also of note, apparently Voldemort donated the grand staircases at the Sandler Center.

Anyway, the Virginia Opera was great and put on a very creative rendition of the play. I definitely enjoyed it.

I love Chris' "I'm pretending to have a great time" smile in that picture

You can never get too much culture! Chris was a good sport and it's good to different things you wouldn't have done otherwise. Congrats on the win!
