Baby Strat

As many of you probably heard over the last week, we've got a bit of news:

God willing, there will be a baby Strat joining us in August.

That's right, in less than six months Chris and I will be parents. Crazy. So without further ado, here are a few answers to questions that a handful of you may be wondering.

When are you due? When the baby comes. Right now it's looking like sometime in the back half of August. All you mid to late August birthdays better be prepared in the event you might have to share your day!

How are you feeling? It hasn't been the easiest of journeys thus far, but hopefully things are looking up. I'm able to work and things are looking good according to the people at the doctor's office. Plus, I like to eat a lot, so now I don't even have to feel bad if I consume absurd amounts of things. I even have a pair of pants or so that fit me still, as long as I'm not sitting down, since the baby is stealing and/or rejecting all my food based on his/her whimsy.

Are you having a boy or girl? We're not sure. It's still a bit early to tell (about 16 weeks), but we think we're not going to find out anyway. I'd like a girl, Chris would like a boy, so either way I guess we win.

What are you going to name him/her? We don't know yet. We haven't really talked about names much yet and probably won't decide until much closer to the due date. In the meantime, your suggestions are welcome. Unless they're ridiculous. A few guidelines for your suggestions in case you plan on sending them: nothing too crazy, and nothing hard to spell.

Are you guys excited? Yep. Especially when we don't think practically about things like scheduling and sleeping and money. In all seriousness though, we're thrilled and are super excited to meet baby Strat in just under six months. Hopefully not before then.

And now for your viewing pleasure, baby Strat's first pictures (taken three weeks ago):

(Note: Chris thinks 3-D ultrasound pictures are super creepy and isn't a fan of them, but I thought our moms might enjoy the picture)

I am so, so excited for you guys (and selfishly, for us to have more people on the baby train :)). I hope that you keep feeling better and can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!
