Texas, the first half

We spent most of last week in Texas. We had been planning this trip for awhile around one of my college roommate's wedding, and I was able to swing my schedule at work so that I wouldn't have to take any time off. I worked my shifts and then we left for the airport a couple hours after I got home. It was a very busy week, but we've had this week to recuperate a bit from the trip. My grandparents live outside of Dallas, so we planned to start our trip by spending a couple nights at their house. We hadn't been there since our road trip in 2010. They are world travelers, so they always have something interesting going on. We were just glad our timing was able to work with theirs! We spent lots of time catching up, eating delicious food, hearing about and visiting with the neighbors, and trading stories.

Chris was able to watch some March Madness, and my Opa and I walked around the ranch a bit.

We also wandered down to their dock and visited the pet cemetery on the way where all our family's pets are buried (in spirit, for the most part, which I only found out in 2010 - but I hear some are actually buried there). I am leaning against our family cat Junior's cross. "Faithful, Loving Army Cat. 1982 - 1997." He traveled the world with us and was just wonderful!

On our way out of town, we were able to swing through Plano and see my Uncle Matt, Aunt Tracy, and cousin Brittany. I haven't seen them since our last trip to Texas, so it was nice to catch up and see what they are up to these days even if it was a short visit.
