Baby dates

A couple times over the past month, Eleanor and I have had the opportunity to go out to lunch with friends. She's swallowing everything we put in her mouth now (instead of sucking on it and spitting it out like she was doing a couple months back) so lunch is a great activity for her. We've hit up both Chick-fil-a and Panera this month. At Chick-fil-a, they are very family friendly. Employees set up high chairs for us, put down place mats for the babies, delivered our food to the table, and even offered us free ice cream. I love that place. Panera is a little less family friendly as I often have to stand around and fight for a table, but only because it's pretty popular at lunch time. The food's great so we enjoy it.

The biggest issue going out to eat for us is that Eleanor gets very distracted by everything going on in restaurants. She doesn't care enough about food yet to focus on it, so instead she spends half her time hanging backward out of the high chair to focus on everyone else and chats away at them. Most people don't seem to mind too much, but we still avoid places much nicer than this in case they do.

Also, the girl has it in her genes: she loves ice cream. I've only given her a little bit a handful of times, but she's definitely into it.
