It's probably obvious given how much I post about it, but I love Colonial Williamsburg (or what the locals affectionately refer to as CW, or C-dub). Eleanor and I probably go at least once a week, either to look at the animals, which she is completely in to right now, to take a long walk, or to get ice cream from
M Dubois Grocer in our refillable mug. Eleanor has learned when it's time for ice cream. The second we exit the grocer and she sees the mug, she spits her pacifier out, reaches up her arms and starts saying, "uh, uh, uh" until I put the spoon in her mouth. I mean, who wouldn't love a place where you can get free ice cream and the water fountains are ingeniously hidden inside of barrels to maintain the illusion of historical accuracy?
The animals that we visit are horses, sheep, and oxen. Eleanor seems to mostly like the horses because they're so big, they come over to you, and she can always see them.
There are farmers markets every Saturday morning, and I bought my tomato plants and basil there this year. The only negative is that on really hot days, there is not a lot of shade available on the main street, Duke of Gloucester. I don't know how the people that dress up as colonists survive the hot summer days out there, but I'm sure they've got some tricks up their sleeves to keep cool.

Where did you find all of the sheep?? We've been looking for them with very little success recently...
