We typically go to the same pumpkin patch every year to pick out our pumpkins, but this year some of our friends suggested a new one. In the interest of community, we decided to go to the new one and boy was it different! I think if I had gone in with different expectations we could have had a great time, but having gotten used to the low-key nature of the patch we normally go to, this one was anything but. This one was an "experience" where you have to buy arm bands and pay for every activity you want to do from bounce houses and corn mazes, to hay rides, and everything in between. There were animals to feed (chickens, pigs, horses, rams, sheep, donkeys, rabbits, etc.), trains and ponies to ride, a corn pit and a hay pit. Basically it just wasn't what I expected! Anyway, the kids had a decent time, but next year I will go back to our ferry ride, and picking out a pumpkin in a big patch with less of the bells and whistles. It was hard to spend time with anyone in this type of environment.
We even ran into Eleanor's friend (and soon to be semi-cousin!) Charlie.
Eleanor and Chris launched pumpkins at toilets sitting on a car.
The girls played in the hay pit.
We even took a hay ride!
Overall it was a great farm, we just didn't get to spend much time with anyone else while we were there!
The next week, Eleanor had a school field trip to this same farm! They did teaching about the life cycle of a pumpkin, different types of pumpkins, and a fun tour.
I was glad for the opportunity to go on her field trip!

Wow it sounds kind of like Great Country Farms. The pumpkin slingshot looks super fun! You can't beat pumpkins from an actual pumpkin patch though.
