Halloween

This year for Halloween, Eleanor and Jane decided they both wanted to be Ariel. Because of that, we decided to make Ben Sebastian and Rosie Flounder. It was Ben and Rosie's first Halloween - probably their last first holiday!

First, Jane's class had a harvest party, parade, and pumpkin carving. Each parent gets to pick one of the holiday parties to "host" and I picked this one with my neighbor (who also has a kid in Jane's class). It was so fun!

Eleanor's class had a party and parade that afternoon, too!

I drove her home from school after the parade and then we ate a quick dinner, dressed everyone up in their costumes and took some pictures! Eleanor and Jane's favorite part was "dying" their hair red for Ariel. The fumes from the spray hair can were intense though - I obviously didn't think that one through all the way. At least we did it outside!

The girls' friends who used to live in our neighborhood but moved away (within Williamsburg) last fall came by for pictures, too! The girls were so glad to be able to see them on Halloween like in years past. It was a quick visit because they wanted to trick-or-treat in their new neighborhood but still wonderful!

After that, we loaded everyone up and headed to the park to visit our neighbor friends!

And then off to trick-or-treat! This year we did the back of the neighborhood because Eleanor really wanted to trick-or-treat with her best friend from her class who lives in the back of the neighborhood. It was pretty lively back there compared to the front loop of the neighborhood!

Jane was done trick-or-treating after about half an hour and rode in the stroller the rest of the time. We kept asking her if she wanted to go up to a house with Eleanor and she would say, "No, I have enough candy." Rosie fell asleep before 6:30 and caught a nap during trick-or-treating. Then she stayed up talking late in her crib, haha!

Happy Halloween, everyone! We have soooo much candy! Not sure what we're going to do with it all! Overall it was a very fun Halloween. Our kids are at a really fun age for it!
