Christmas-filled weekend

We had a fun Christmas weekend that started off with a date night! My mom came over to watch the kids (she had been staying with Lauren to help with Bonnie). We went to Casa Pearl to get tacos and then to Virginia Beer Company for drinks.

On Friday night the kids were invited over to our neighbor's house to make cookies.

Saturday morning we went to the Williamsburg Christmas parade - one of my favorite traditions! Ben absolutely loved the trucks and Rosie didn't smile until the parade was almost over.

We took our annual visit to Santa. Rosie did surprisingly great. Ben was good until he had to sit with Mrs. Claus and then he lost it. He was good again as soon as he was able to get down.

Eleanor had a birthday party to go to over the weekend with her friend Alex. It was Harry Potter themed!

We had a family advent activity at church in the early evening.

That night I had the annual girls' Ornament Exchange.

And the next day Jane had a birthday party to go to for her friend Emma.

My favorite part of the weekend, though, was Grand Illumination. We hadn't been since the twins were born so I believe this was Ben and Rosie's first experiences with fireworks. I think Rosie enjoyed it but Ben LOVED it. He was so excited the whole time. Eleanor and Jane enjoyed it, too, though Eleanor thought the booms were too loud.

It was a very Christmas-filled weekend and we are looking forward to lots more Christmas activities this month!

What a great full week for you all! It is so cute to see how Ben and Rosie react so differently to all the firsts!
