Christmas Town 2019

We took our annual trip to Christmas Town last week and we thankfully picked a good day (over a month ago!) right in the middle of a bunch of bad days. The day before it was pouring rain all day and night and the day after, it never got above 30 degrees. We had to bundle up in many layers, but we all stayed relatively comfortable. We picked up Eleanor early from school and headed straight to Christmas Town as it opened. We stayed until after the ice skating show so we didn't get home until just before 9. It was a long but fun evening!

We started by heading to Scrooge No More - the show based off of Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

We explored England in the daylight. England is my favorite part of Christmas Town. I love the lights and wreaths and decorations both in the daylight and at night. Not that the whole park isn't beautiful and magical, but this part is my favorite!

We found a giant snowman.

We had someone take our picture at the nativity scene.

The kids enjoyed the Christmas tree where there is usually a fountain.

Chris got to ride Finnegan's Flyer for the first time and I got to ride Invadr for the first time (with Eleanor, who has ridden it multiple times). Eleanor's light up necklace someone how on that crazy roller coaster!

We watched the tree lighting.

Jane, Ben, and Rosie got to ride some rides in Italy while Eleanor and Chris rode the Battering Ram.

We rode the Polar Express (though they don't call it that) and sang carols around the park while looking at the beautiful lights.

We saw Gloria, the show that tells the story of the birth of Jesus, and they went to 'Twas That Night, the ice skating show based off the book. We also saw parts of Deck the Halls and Believe - but didn't stay for the whole shows.

We walked through the Christmas Tree maze (not really a maze if you ask me, but it shared a little bit about other holidays celebrated at this time of year and the girls enjoyed it).

And, of course, took our annual picture along the Polar Pathway...

Until next year, Christmas Town!
