Friday field trip 1

We decided we would only do school four days a week and have Fridays free to either catch up, relax, or go on a trip. Our first Friday off we decided to do Jamestown Settlement - a place close by that we have done a few times but can always learn more about.

We explored the indoor museum.

And then headed outside to the outdoor/living museum. We learned about the salinity of the James River and Chesapeake Bay, watched someone carve out a canoe, saw a musket demonstration, and went on the ships.

We then headed to the local library to pick up a few books and eat our lunch outside.

It was a great Friday - wonderful weather mixed with a bit of learning.
