Florida - Disney World

While my mom was in town, we decided to go to Disney World's Magic Kingdom for the day. The kids had never been and we were already down there so it seemed like a great opportunity. The parks are operating at reduced capacity, and they were very strict about their mask policy. We got there so early that we were the first people in our line at the parking booth.

We followed everyones' instructions and decided to try to hit the Seven Dwarf's Mine Train first thing - one of the "newer" coasters that everyone can ride. Thanks to some pro tips, we were hopping off the coaster around the time the park was supposed to officially open! Eleanor loved it, Ben was okay with it, Rosie didn't like it, and Jane came off crying.

From there we headed over to the Peter Pan and then Under the Sea - Little Mermaid rides.

We did Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride and Dumbo.

From there we went to the Tomorrowland Speedway, because it was all Ben could talk about! Ben looooooved it.

We did the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse, which the kids loved and wanted to walk back through.

The big girls went on Splash Mountain with me and Chris, though Jane took some convincing. I don't think she actually minded it, but she was so fearful about the final drop that I don't think she actually enjoyed the ride.

Eleanor, Chris, and I rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, my mom took Ben, Rosie, and Jane over to Tom Sawyer Island. We met them over there after the roller coaster - it was great. The kids particularly loved the fort area and all the tunnels.

We rode the Jungle River Cruise...though Rosie looks super tired here, all the kids did fantastic skipping naps.

In the afternoon there was a short downpour, but thankfully we were under cover waiting for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

We saw several character parades, including Tinkerbell and the rainy day parade!

We also did Buzz Lightyear's ride which was so fun! Ben and I scored 102,400 points! Ben was so cute. He kept waving and talking to Buzz holding up the line. He even ran backwards to wave bye to him.

My mom took the littles over to the Winnie-the-Pooh ride while Chris, Eleanor, and I rode Space Mountain (Eleanor's favorite ride).

We rode Prince Charming's Carousel at sunset (Jane's choice) right before the park was closing.

We ran in and ended the day at Mickey's Philharmagic show.
We closed the park down. It was a great day! We loved every minute of it. I think I got something like 20k steps for the day. Eleanor and Jane did amazing walking the entire time! We got to walk through the castle on the way out, which was also magical.

It was a wonderful day. The girls lowered their masks for this quick picture and we got reprimanded immediately! They were super, super strict about masks. The next day I think everyone's legs were tired!! We were glad my mom was able to go with us because it was so helpful to have both an extra adult for riding rides with young kids, and for splitting up since Eleanor loves all the coasters and the others aren't thrilled with them. It was really a great opportunity and I'm so glad we went.

It was such a fun day! I loved seeing all the smiles and all four of the kids did so good with a long long day! Jane was so patient all day long to get on the carousel. The twins had a great time at Tom Sawyers Island. Eleanor was up for everything and enjoyed it all. It was great!
