August wrap-up

August...was hot. And with swim team over and school starting earlier this year, we just never got into a good rhythm. We spent lots of time at the pool where Rosie and Ben really made leaps and bounds in their swimming abilities. But, when school started, we kind of felt ready. Usually we are all super sad, but we still have a couple pool weekends left to look forward to, and we had been out for so long that it felt like it was time.

Jane loves doing the Kirsten hairstyle.

We spent time at the awesome library we have (which just recently took away all the toys again because of COVID...)

Chris' family came down and we celebrated Papa Laser's 70th birthday!!

Our favorite lifeguard went away to college...

We built a fun fort (on the kids' summer bucket list).

We spent time at the marina/river.

We picnicked in a friend's backyard on a day that we had nothing else to do.

We got together with small group friends.

We did several bike and picnic trips around our local area on cooler days.

We took the kids in toward the middle of the month to register for school.

Eleanor got roller skates/blades for her birthday and all the kids have been trying them.

The girls continue to be obsessed with Narnia and have recently been playing battle scenes. They are archers like Susan.

Ben and Rosie continue to love their High Five magazine!

One day for church we were talking about corn and our pastor actually served the kids corn!

Now school has begun and we will be attempting to adjust to a new normal that includes masks at school, technology at school, potential quarantines, and Chris heading back into the office the majority of the time for work. There is lots we're excited about and lots we're still kind of waiting to decide how we feel about. Onward to September!

Great that they are so excited or school! I love the "Archers to the ready!"
