Cape Charles

From Kiptopeke we headed over to Cape Charles. Cape Charles is a very quaint small town on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

We stayed at a cute house in the historic district that was almost 100 years old and had floors that leaned. We felt like we were walking on a ship out on the ocean most of the time. There was an amazing park and playground down the street.

We hiked a local nature preserve one morning...

We walked around the town and stopped by a bakery.

The houses looked like Easter eggs or jellybeans - so bright and colorful.

We ate ice cream and enjoyed the sunset on the beach.

We spent an afternoon playing at the beach (and then enjoyed some chocolate covered oreos from the local candy shop.

On our last night there, the rain finally came in and we lost power...Chris and I finished a puzzle by candlelight.

But despite the prediction that it would rain the entire time we were there, the weather was actually great and we had a great time.
