We had to drive down to Norfolk and decided to make a pit stop while we were headed that direction, so we checked out Buckroe Beach for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised! This beach is on the Bay so the waves aren't big, but it was perfect for swimming and sandcastle making. They had public bathrooms, free parking, and a playground which made it a great place to spend an afternoon.
