October day off

Over the last few years, Colombus Day was "cancelled" and turned into Indigenous Peoples' Day. Then, they took the holiday away from that for school and just ended up giving the kids a random day off in October. Because it wasn't an actual holiday (just a day off of school), there wasn't much going on so I took the kids down to CW to get ice cream.

Then Rosie was invited to a birthday party that afternoon. Jane got to go, too, to be a "helper." They loved getting their faces painted!

It was a little odd to have a random day off this month and actually have to go to school on the holiday (that I guess isn't a holiday anymore), but we still had a great day!
