May wrap-up

May is always a crazy month - spring sports end, summer swim starts, basically all final projects and SOLs need to be done and turned in, planning for time off school is in full swing, and the weather is beautiful so no one wants to do any of that boring stuff! Outside of December, it's probably the busiest time of year.

Jane rocking an amazing braid:

We got to go watch Bonnie at her dance rehearsal for her recital! She did the same song Jane and Rosie did three years ago so the girls were especially excited to see her performance this year!

We went to a Kentucky Derby party - sadly none of our horses won!

We went to a William & Mary baseball game and the kids came home with a foul ball.

A friend had to add stabilizer to the pool one evening to get it ready for pool season so we got to do a night swim early in the season!

Mother's Day was lovely! My sister and I got to take my mom out to breakfast (perks of living in the same town now!), Eleanor made me (and everyone else) lunch after church, and then we had our last small group of the semester and celebrated a birthday along with Mother's Day.

Ben went to an ophthalmologist.

Jane did a soccer academy this spring. She won the "Soccer Smarts" award for the season.

We got to see Uncle Henry and Auntie Jessie when they came down for the day. It was a brief visit and I didn't get a picture with them, but next time hopefully it'll be a longer visit!

Jane and Sarah made Mexican Wedding Cookies and they were delicious!

Lots of puzzle time...

So many turtles are out and about!

Chris and I did a walk around campus with friends once the students were gone - so much has changed!

The twins had market day at school right before Memorial Day. Ben made cookies and Rosie made brownies, which was a lot of baking in one day right before a holiday weekend!

Ben and Rosie had chef day at school!

The kids had a sleepover with friends.

The grass is growing and the boys are mowing the lawn.

We went to Tropical Smoothie one night for smoothies!

Gaby officially closed on her house this month and we ran over with dinner to eat on the floor of the living room to celebrate (she won't move for a couple weeks so there was no furniture yet!).

While I love the month of May and we've had the most amazing weather that I can remember for this month, May makes me tired! I am looking forward to a more relaxed summer pace if we can get into a good rhythm. Happy summer, all!
