Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald

Day four in Switzerland was my birthday! We decided to rent e-bikes to explore Lauterbrunnen Valley after enjoying the beautiful view from our apartment.

While we were biking we decided to explore Truemmelbach Falls - they're a series of 10 glacier waterfalls all inside a mountain. It was very cool to see!

We had to take an inside the mountain funicular up to see waterfalls 3-10.

Then it was back out into the valley to explore again!

When it started getting crowded, we turned in our e-bikes and explored on  foot a bit. We stopped at this picturesque spot in Lauterbrunnen.

And then got corn dogs for lunch - the best one I've ever had!

From there we took a cable car from Wengen up to Maennlichen:

Maennlichen was beautiful. We did the Royal Walk up to the peak to see gorgeous views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and Grindelwald from above.

Day four of cows everywhere! Today I pet one!

At the top of Maennlichen we could see the Eiger, the Moench, and the Jungfrau.

We came up the gondola with a pair of paragliders and we were able to witness one launch before embarking on the Royal Walk. It was terrifying. And perhaps more terrifying was the friend who climbed over a fence and down the side of a cliff to get a shot of his friend's launch (see video below).

We grabbed a drink at the Berggasthaus Maennlichen.

Then we took another gondola down the mountain from Maennlichen to Grindelwald. We hiked up the hills there and got very hot, so we stopped for ice cream!

From there we took a cable car up to Pfingstegg to ride their Rodelbahn. It was very fun!

From there we headed home to get changed and explore Interlaken. We ate at the Huessi Bierhaus.

We walked along the Aare.

And then we stopped at the Interlaken park to watch all the paragliders land!

 It was a great evening!
