October has been lovely. The weather's finally starting to get cooler, the leaves are changing, and school is starting to become a bit more routine. The girls are all playing soccer, Eleanor has been playing volleyball at the middle school, and Ben is playing flag football for the first time.
Eleanor participated in the Adopt a Highway road clean up with some friends at student ministries.
We went to an oyster roast at our neighbors' house. I ate an oyster! Jane made carmeled apple slices.
Rosie acting fancy!
The girls and I went to the Official Release Party of the Life of a Showgirl.
While we were there, Ben went to Chris' office to do some important work...printing off football team logos to trace later.
Rosie and Ben set up the Thor's hammer obstacle from Jane's 9th birthday party in the backyard and have been practicing their skills.
I've kept up morning walks with neighbors, but it's quite dark in the morning these days!

Rosie built a sandcastle at the park:
One of our college roommates and their kids came to Williamsburg for Homecoming and we got our families together!
Ben and Rosie at the bus stop with their velcro catch game:
Ben had a playdate with a friend and they carved pumpkins and decorated doughnuts.
These kids had a sleepover!
We celebrated several members of our small groups' 40th birthdays with a fire pit and some nostalgic 90s music.
October is one of my favorite months of the year. There's so much good outside time before you really have to break out all the layers, the holidays aren't upon us yet (which I also love, but requires a lot more organization and attention), and the colors are amazing. So long October, I already look forward to you next year.
